We had a full house at Mowbray Park Farm Wednesday night. Blair Briggs hosted the evening meeting and updated us on the upgrades to the Mowbray Farm while the tourist and accommodation industry has been in lockdown these past six months. Our guest speaker from Appin Chamber of Commerce, Lauren Eade, informed members of a new initiative being implemented by Appin Chamber to promote shopping locally in Wollondilly. Lauren has a team working on a promotional website that will double as a business directory for Wollondilly businesses. It will incentivise shoppers with gift prizes awarded monthly to shoppers patronising local businesses. Shoppers can enter a draw for a prize after purchasing items from participating businesses. The site is expected to become a hub for future Wollondilly business activity and the concept was warmly embraced by members.
Other items on the agenda was the announcement of various events for 2020-21 which will be posted on our events page as details become available.
The Picton Chamber of Commerce is eager to expand membership and share our experiences and professional expertise and learn from your business experiences too. The Chamber is a good conduit to help communicate to various Government bodies and NGO’s and the more members we have the more noticeable we become. So visit our membership page now and join up. We’de love to welcome you at our next meeting.
