Congratulations to the new Executive
Due to the NSW State Government health orders, the Picton Chamber of Commerce and Industries AGM was held online via Zoom on the 25th August 2021. Many thanks to our Returning Officer Matt Deeth for chairing the meeting.
Our twenty twenty President and life member Geoff O’Brien held a round-table, or round-screen, asking members to share their experiences running their businesses during these times of government imposed Covid sanctions and regulations. It has been a real mixed bag for member businesses with some unable to open their doors at all while others offering services and products essential for at-home work and schooling were run off their feet.
Geoff then recapped Chamber highlights of the previous year which included the Resilience Event which paid tribute to emergency first responders, businesses and community members who, through flood, fire and drought, fought all the odds to stand with their colleagues in support of one another.
The growth in membership during the last year stands as testimony to the need for support through organisations like the Chamber and we encourage business persons to join our upcoming meetings and events where you will find much needed support and encouragement while navigating the uncertain terrain that running a business and supporting a family during these Covid times bring.
