The Picton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the new Executive team who have offered their skills and services for the next 12 months. We are grateful to our outgoing President Kyle Chamberlain and his Executive team who have steered the Chamber these past few years on a course of enthusiastic growth and expansion. We look forward to their continued input to the Chamber as long time members and welcome the new team to their new responsibilities.

President

Geoff O’Brien – Property Wyze

As a passionate Picton resident for the last 22 years, Geoff is the Community Engagement Manager with Bradcorp and runs his own “Property Wyze” Business.

Described best as energetic, enthusiastic with a diverse and unique skills base, Geoff thrives on challenges and supporting teams. Geoff says, “Picton is thriving. New shops and offices are being filled, the Civic Cultural Precinct is being developed and this means great activity underpinning Picton as the cultural and business centre of the shire. The next twelve months will be an exciting time for the Chamber to diversify our activities, be inclusive and encourage a broad membership but most importantly support each other to have fun and thrive. We want the Chamber to leave a legacy of benefit for our town and community. Watch this space.”

Vice President

Jo Bently – Uniquely Local

Jo owns and runs multiple businesses including the very successful event management business, Uniquely Local. Uniquely Local presented the Wollondilly Business Awards in 2019 which was well attended by local businesses and dignitaries and supported local vendors and suppliers at a time when large events are far and few. Jo is also the owner-operator of Benjos Petspa and for the last 10 years has pampered her customer’s pooches with luxury grooming in her mobile pet salon. Jo is community-minded and serves on the Executive Committee for “Caring for Wollondilly” which supports families within our Shire and is training with the Wilton RFS Brigade.

Secretary

Lance Watson – Partner, Caldwell Martin & Cox Solicitors

Lance brings a wealth of experience to the Chamber. He has worked for the Attorney Generals Department of NSW, the NSW Supreme Court and a variety of Local Courts across the Sydney region and as an Associate to a District Court Judge. Lance says “With so much development forecast to occur in the greater Sydney region I believe it is the right time for local businesses to join together as a group to put forward what we would like for Picton and the Wollondilly Shire. Our Chamber regularly has our Local MP’s and Councillors in attendance at our meetings which are a great way to provide input for how the development can benefit us.” Lance also brings to the table his expertise in estate law which the Chamber can utilise as we look into the future development of the district. Outside of the office he keeps himself busy as the President of his local Rural Fire Brigade and is often seen on weekends riding off into the bush on his mountain bike.

Treasurer

Peter Tapp – Pinnacle Tax & Accounting

For over 25 years Peter has been helping and making peoples business and personal dreams become a reality. Peter holds over 25 years experience in advising, supporting and growing businesses of all types and sizes all over the state.

He understands the importance of community and family as shown by his commitment to the Rural Fire Brigade, Chamber of Commerce and Army Reserve. Peter’s real life experiences and in-depth understanding of the complex issues and problems running a business means that he brings a wealth of expertise to the Picton Chamber of Commerce.

Director of Fun and Well-Being

Kim Roulston – Hippyluxe

Kim owns and runs her very colourful and fun-loving hippy lifestyle store Hippyluxe in Picton which offers a beautiful range of clothing and gifts to suit everyone. Hippluxe has become a well-known hang-out with locals. Kim’s motto is to “Keep it colourful and keep it fun” and is known to have lots of laughs with her customers. Kim brings her positive fun-filled personality to the executive as our Ambassador for Fun and Well-Being which in this year of 2020 is a greatly needed commodity.

Membership

Kylie Greffenius – Photogreff

Kylie brings her skills as a long time professional local businesswoman to the team.  Her enthusiasm to expand the Chamber’s membership and the importance that has on our ability to be an active force for change is her key strategy for the next year. Kylie says, “As part of the Picton Chamber Executive my goal is to leave members feeling that we have delivered on their needs; they’re not our audience, they’re our reason for stepping up.”

Media and Communication

Mark Shaw – Imageworx

Mark has run his successful design and consulting business in Picton for over 25 years and brings to the Chamber his expertise in print and digital communications. Mark says,”Now is the time for small businesses like those in Picton and the shire to unite as one with a loud voice to be heard by Government. Our local newspapers and radio have lost their impact to motivate authorities and organisations into action so if small business needs are to be met we need a strong united voice to take the message where it is needed.” Mark’s skills as a copywriter, web developer and digital consultant will assist Chamber members to be heard.
